SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
  • Use only on tightly curled African or afro-caribbean hairtype.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid eye contact. If product comes into contact with them, rinse immediately and consult a doctor. Can cause blindness.
  • If ingested, do not induce vomiting. Consult a doctor immediately.
  • If irritation occurs during relaxing, rinse thoroughly and use the after relaxing shampoo (3) immediately. If irritation persists, consult a physician.
  • Do not use on an irritated or damaged scalp.
  • Do not use with products other than those provided in this kit.
  • Not suitable for children.
  • Use the strength of relaxer suited to your hair type (see time chart).
  • To avoid hair loss or breakage, burns or skin lesions, do not use on permed hair or hair straightened with product containing thioglycolate.
  • Do not use on bleached or highlighted hair, or hair damaged by repeated hair colourings.
  • Do not use on fragile or damaged hair.
  • Hair is flammable: keep away from sparks and open flames at all times.
  • Never store the mixture. Discard any unused mixture. Rinse the container and spatula used.
  • Wait 2 weeks before applying a hair colour.
  • Not using the after-relaxing shampoo will lead to hair breakage or hair loss.
HAIR PREPARE
  • Always do a strand test before relaxing your hair. In case of hair breakage or scalp irritation, do not use this product, nor any relaxer.
  • Wait at least 6 weeks between relaxer applications.
  • Do not comb or style hair with an afro comb before applying the relaxer
  • Do not use hot combs or other heated devices before or during the relaxing process.
  • Do not use any combs, bowls or other metallic instruments during the relaxing process.
  • Do not shampoo or brush the hair in the 3 days before and after relaxing.
  • Do not comb or brush before applying the relaxer.
  • Do not braid or put in/remove extensions in the 2 weeks before relaxing
  • Do not relax immediately after removing braids or extensions. Take care of the hair and wait for 2 weeks.
  • Do not scratch scalp with a comb, brush or fingernails for at least 3 days prior to relaxing.
  • Do not use anti-dandruff shampoos for at least 2 weeks before or after relaxing hair.
  • Do not pull hair during application.
  • Do not apply relaxer to scalp.
  • Do not use hair color for at least 2 weeks before or after relaxing.
HOW TO MIX
  • Wear the protective gloves provided in the kit throughout the relaxing process as well as when rinsing and shampooing after relaxing.
  • For your comfort, use a protective base (Vaseline) on scalp, hair line, ears and nape of the neck.
FULL HEAD APPLICATION ON VIRGIN HAIR
  • Mixing full contents
  • Open both Cream activator (2) sachets and squeeze entire content into Relaxer Cream (1) jar.
  • Mix well with wooden spatula until color is uniform with no streaks. This uniform color indicated that the relaxer cream is properly mixed and relaxer mixture is ready to use.
RETOUCHING REGROWTH
  • Mixing half contents: Remove half of the amount of relaxer cream (1) and set aside in a separate non-metal mixing container.
  • Open one Cream Activator (2) sachet and empty conents into the mixing container you have set asid.
  • Mix well with wooden spatula until color is uniform with no streaks. This uniform color indicates the relaxer cream is properly mixed and is ready to use.
STRAND TEST
  • Always do a strand test before relaxing, even if you have relaxed before.
  • Wear the gloves and keep them on throughout the relaxing process. Take a small section of hair close to the neck. Apply relaxer mixture evenly on unrelaxed portion of test section (if hair has been previously relaxed, apply to new growth only) without touching the scalp. Set timer for your hair texture (see Time chart). Do not rub relaxer into the scalp.
  • Check texture and straightness of your hair regularly while waiting. If they are satisfactory before recommended processing time is up, end the test. Record time in Time Chart and use as your processing time.
  • Otherwise, use the time recommended in Time Chart. Never exceed the maximum processing time indicated in the Time Chart.
  • When time is over, rinse relaxer mixture from the test section with warm water and washes with after relaxing shampoo (3). Rinse. Allow test section of the hair to dry. Check for irritation or hair breakage. In case of irritation occur, do not use this product or any other relaxer.
  • Do not wash entire head after strand test. If strand is not sufficiently relaxed, increase your treatment time from the strand test results, but do not exceed the time range for your hair type.
TIME CHART
  • DO NOT EXCEED TIME LIMITS!
  • FINE HAIR: DO NOT APPLY! (is preferible to use a Regular Relaxer).
  • NORMAL HAIR: Application time 15-18 minuts.
  • STRONG HAIR: Application time 18-20 minuts.
  • RESISTANT HAIR: Application time 20-25 minuts.
HOW TO APPLY
    • Before you use, see How to Mix section for mixing instructions. Do strand test first.
    • Part hair into four then from ear to ear. For you comfort, we recommend you apply a protective base (Vaseline) on scalp, hairline, ears and nape of the neck
  • STEP 1 - Apply the relaxer mixture:
    • With gloves on, apply the relaxer mixture on dry hair, without touching the scalp.
    • If hair has been previously relaxed, apply only on new growth.
    • Use a clock or a timer. The application time must be included in the total processing time.
    • Make narrow partings of 1 cm. Apply the relaxer mixture generously, working from the 2 crown sections, to the 2 hairline sections. Apply on hairline at the end.
    • Full head application on virgin hair.
    • Apply the relaxer, mixture on new growth only, section by section, starting at the roots. Avoid overlapping relaxer onto previously relaxed hair. Application of product to previously relaxed hair can cause breakage.
  • STEP 2 - Smooth:
    • Use the back of a wide-toothed comb to smooth and spread relaxer mixture through unrelaxed hair or regrowth.
    • Continue to smooth relaxer mixture through hair paying close attention not to exceed the maximum recommended processing time for your hair type.
  • STEP 3 - Rinse:
    • With gloves on, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until relaxer mixture is removed. The rinsing water must not come into contact with eyes.
    • In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.
  • STEP 4 - Shampoo:
    • With gloves on, wash with After-relaxing shampoo (3) provided and rinse well.
    • You must shampoo and rinse thoroughly at least twice to eliminate all traces of relaxer mixture.
    • Make sure there is no cream left on scalp, hairline and hair.
    • Pink lather indicates relaxer mixture residue is still in the hair which if not removed may result in damage from over processing. Repeat this process as long as the lather is pink.
    • Note: if using only half-contents of relaxer cream (1), save half of After relaxing shampoo (3) in bottle for next retouch application.
  • STEP 5 - Moisturize:
    • Apply moisture plus restorative Balm (4) Massage into hair and apply from roots to ends, making sure that hair is well covered. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse well.
